On the water
From Luzech to Larnagol, the river Lot has been navigable for 75 km between April and November since its reopening in 1900. The navigable portion includes seventeen manual locks, except for the Coty lock at Cahors which has an automatic device. To pass, a key is required (available at the Tourist Office against a deposit of 50 euros).
All aboard for a guided river tour, perhaps a meal afloat, or take the helm aboard your own small craft or a houseboat which can be hired by the week.
Discover the valley of the Cahors vineyards and the history of the river, which has been the source of the wealth of Cahors since antiquity. Pass under the iconic Pont Valentré and enter the heart of the Regional Park of the Quercy to admire its impressive cliffs.
