Flowing through the heart of the city of Cahors, along a landscaped and regularly maintained course, the river Lot meets the requirement of the most demanding angler. The loop formed by the Lot, between the the Moulin de Coty and the Pont Valentré has been awarded the much envied label "Parcours Pêche Passion" in 2013 by the French National Fishing Federation.
The départment's local federation earned this ranking through the completion of a number of projects and the installation of amenities for the Grand Cahors area.
Although located in the heart of the city, the fishing zones are green and tranquil - the river banks have been stabilised by bioengineering and "riparian" replanting. All angling styles can be practiced. A path for pedestrians on the right bank helps track down pike and black bass by lure. More than 20 fishing positions are set up for coarse fishing and provide easy access to banks for family fishing.
So that everyone can enjoy this beautiful fishing aera, two fishing stations accessible to people with reduced mobility have been built.
A launch ramp allows predator fish to be hunted by boat while you discover Cahors from the river.

The 2,500 metres where angling is allowed contain perch, black bass, and pike with catches of more than a metre length occurring every year. You will also meet barbel, carp (night fishing is possible along the whole zone), roach, bleak, gudgeon, chub and tench.
Maison de la Pêche et de la Nature
This is the headquarters of the local fishing federation. It has a workshop open Monday to Friday to give you useful advice and ensure the success of your stay. It also offers discovery courses for children, and will clip your fishing card in a couple of minutes.
