This library is one of the finest 19th C. buildings in Cahors. In the neoclassical style, it is the work of the architect Jean Rodolosse, who took his inspiration from the great models of the 18th C.
Superb room lined with books from floor to ceiling (about 8 metres), wooden galleries, and spiral staircase and bookshelves in walnut. Bindings from the 16th, 17th and 18th C.
Late 19th C. neo-classical style building. Ceiling decorated with roses surrounded by floral and foliate garlands. The window surrounds are ornamented with identical vegetal decoration. Architect: Jean Rodolosse
