Château Famaey is a 24 hectare vineyard in the Lot valley.
Château Famaey is a family business working in the traditional spirit combined with a modern infrastructure.
A philosophy based on respect for Nature governs the way we care for our vines and make our wine, keeping the use of chemical additives to the absolute minimum to obtain a wine which is a natural as possible. Bottling at the château, respecting the area of origin, guarantees the authenticity of these unique wines.
The vineyard was taken over in 2000 and given the name of Château Famaey.

Luc Luyckx (call him "Luc" - it's easiest!) and his son Maarten create some of the loveliest Malbecs in the Cahors. They welcome visitors all year round and sell their wines all over the world. Fortunately for me, a little stays here in the Lot valley. The Cuvee X bears comaprison with any red wine anywhere. It has become my family's wine for special occasions - Christmas wouldn't be Christmas here without it.
